The summer season’s over. The beach is empty. As I packed up no one asked if I was leaving – no one cared – least of all the 100+ rental rods or the captains or crews of the ½ day boats who were poaching the waters the kayak fishing community has been fighting so hard to keep. Will any of them be there to say ‘Yes on Two?’

We first bagged a limit of rockfish and a few white fish. At first light we made bait of pacific mackerel. Took one for a stroll out and around those sometime diving birds for all the Bonito from 5-15 pounds we had bait enough for.

This is a great time of the year as the water is still very warm and fish very active. The flocks of migratory bird are everywhere. And I’m still able to paddle and fish with reckless abandoned.

October 21st…will you be there to speak up for your sport or will you let our rite to fish slip away?
