Welcome. Fort Fisher is my favorite place to fish. I'm from Wilmington but am temporarily in Greenville for now and miss it like crazy. I still make it down there once a month to fish though. Go by Cape Fear Kayaks and talk to those guys, especially my buddy Chris. He and I fish together a lot and he also guides trips in that area.
To start off with though go check out the Basin area past the ferry. Paddle out to the second bay and those creeks that connect the two bays next to Zeke's Island. Most people call this area Cribbens. It holds some deep water in a few holes by the rocks. The water will drop from 4 and 5 feet deep to 35!
Also fish the holes in the rock wall in the second bay on an incoming tide. There's a lot to catch around there and it's easy. Sit outside the fast currents (30 feet or so) and cast towards the holes in the wall and let the moving water take your lure. Keep some tension on your line for feeling strikes. You'll find big flounder and drum around there.
Good luck and maybe we'll pass one another sometime. Just look for a blue Manta Ray 14. _________________

Unless the wind kick up past 12 -15 mph I'll be heading down to Ft. Fisher in the AM, probably put in the water about 8 and head back around 1. Look for the yellow OK and blue minivan. Anyone who wants to come is welcome. I'll be heading to the creeks and probably the rock wall, not all the way down to buzzards bay.

| Not catching fish at WB made me very sleepy. I went home and laid down. Sorry. That was the first time I had ever fished a group. I found out that I paddle left handed, even though I am a righty. |
